Profile of Section of Research & Development
Functions
- Responsible for the National Land Code including proposed amendments particularly for articles under division v dan division vi.
- Responsible for the amendments to the Malay Reservation Enactment, Continental Shelf Act.
- Prepare and coordinate the response to the Cabinet, National Land Council, Director of Lands Malaysia Meeting.
- Secretariat of Technical meeting on amendment of the National Land Code, the Malay Reserve Enactment and Continental Shelf Act amendment.
- Coordinate, review, update and prepare circulars of KPTG and related circular on administration development.
- Provides legal advice on legaslation and administration of land to the responsibility states.
- Conduct studies and research on the issues and matters related to legislation and administration.
- Prepare and coordinate responses to related parliament questions
- Coordinate and conduct the management audit to the lands offices for the state of Kelantan, Perak and Malacca.
- To handle visits and briefings to the department’s visitors.
- Other duties as directed by KPTG / TKPTG.
Objectives
1. General
- Establishing a modern land administration at federal and state through the latest legislation and administration system
2. Operations
- Establishing a modern, efficient and effective land management system at state and district levels.
- Review of land laws and related regulations for research purpose on the policies of development and land laws from time to time
- Conduct research on current issues in the management of land, and make recommendations to resolve (amend and enact laws).
- Enhance the quality of management of the land office to professional level.
