Profile of The Federal Land Section (SHTP)

 

Background

The Federal Land Section (SHTP) formally know as The Federal Land Division under the Director General of Federal Lands and Mines (Federal) was established in 1957. SHTP is the core unit within the department which executes the role of the Federal Land Commissioner's function in accordance to the Federal Land Commissioner's Act 1957 ( Act 349 - revised 1988).


Objectives

  • To elevate managing and maintenance of Federal Lands records in relation to national development.
  • To establish a highly effective and high quality of administration of Federal Land inline with national development.

 

Functions

  •  Storing, maintaining and updating records of Federal Land.;

  •  Managing applications of alienation / reservation of of land for Federal projects on behalf of Federal Ministry / User;

  •  Managing the payment of annual quit rent for Federal Land Commissioner;

  •  Managing purchasing of land and building in accordance with the existing guidelines;

  •  Manage the lease of Federal land;

  •  Managing the vesting of land to the Federal Land Commissioner;

  • As Chargee to complete the instruments of housing loan for Federal goverment officer in Sabah and Sarawak, Low Income Scheme in Penisular Malaysia, and Cooperative's loan;
  • Manage lease agreement for sub-lease of land/building for Federal Departments in Sabah and Sarawak;

  • Offering advise to Ministries / Federal Departments in matters relating to Federal Land.
